About the Artwork
“A jack of all trades is a master of none but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
This painting is inspired by the great Renaissance man Leonardo da Vinci, who was not only a master of the arts but a “jack of all trades.” He was an architect, a draftsman, a scientist, and an engineer.
I’ve heard the term “struggling artist” before, yet art is not something I struggle with.
In fact, I like to think I’m actually good at art. But what I do struggle with is being an entrepreneur. The business side that comes with being an artist is the part that’s overwhelming at times. As an entrepreneur, you have to be able to wear all the hats. We have to be like Leonardo, and be a “jack of all trades” so to speak. Someone that can do it all.
It can get overwhelming at times especially because I’m not an expert in all of the skills yet. But Leonardo wasn’t born a master of all of his skillsets either. I’m sure he faced many challenges along the way. Probably even had moments, like this lion, where he just wanted to scream out in frustration.
So if you’re an entrepreneur, an artist, or just an adult struggling to do it all…. just know you’re not alone. I am right here with you and so is Leonardo. We can roar out our frustrations together.
